This is a great looking Ganoderma On Sorbus.  Probably the best shot of this bracket I have taken.

Fungus Brackets

Various shots of a couple of fungus brackets that I took the other day.

Some are taken of dead wood that's been lying in place for some time.  The last three are from a dead standing Sorbus.

Holmewood Gardens, Sorbus Tree

Growing on a lean and rubbing on the perimeter fence.  This tree will have to be removed before the trunk snaps at the rubbing location.  Canopy will probably grow to a size that wind throw will result in failure of the trunk at that point.
